Courtney and Drew Craft. A summer wedding at the Allen Farmhaus in New Braunfels, Texas.

Courtney and Drew’s summer wedding at the Allen Farmhaus in New Braunfels, TX, can be described in three words: beautiful, festive, and perfect. I’m so pleased to share with you all of the details and thought that went into their big day.

Thank you to Ashley Medrano Photography for capturing their wedding festivities and allowing me to share them with y’all!

The Planning

When I spoke with Courtney in December of 2017, I knew she was going to be a great DIY Bride. She and Drew were just recently engaged, but she was cool and collected and had all of the details under control. Being an out-of-town bride coming in for a destination wedding, she knew she wanted a day-of coordinator to allow her and her mom to sit back and enjoy the wedding day, and not have to run around and do everything themselves. (Which is exactly what they did!)

We had our pre-wedding meeting a little less than a month out from their wedding at 2Tarts bakery on a Saturday morning. We went over the list of all the amazing vendors she’d hired, the timeline for the wedding day, their ceremony order, and all of the decor and setup information. Soon we had a great final checklist nailed down, and they were off to their next vendor meeting!

The Rehearsal

Craft_Wedding_RehearsalCourtney and Drew’s ceremony was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church here in New Braunfels and we had a lovely rehearsal led by Ms. Betty, a volunteer wedding coordinator with the church.

After the rehearsal, Courtney and Drew gave gifts to their parents, and they received gifts as well. It was a sweet moment between the parents and their children.

Soon they were off to the Gruene River Grill for dinner and to enjoy their friends and family. There were more gifts given at the restaurant. Take a close look!

Getting Ready

On their wedding day, all of the ladies showed up early to begin hair and makeup with Vixen OnSite. Check out the wedding party’s reaction to seeing Courtney in her dress. She looked gorgeous!

While the ladies got all dolled up and the guys were hanging out in the Groom’s Suite getting ready and having their boutonnieres pinned on.

While everyone was getting ready setup began for my team! We were soon joined by Barbie Foerster and her team who brought all the florals and decor.  The summer colors were perfect for an August wedding.

Courtney’s jewelry and rosary brought even more meaning to an already special day.

Once the guys and gals were ready, wedding party photos commenced on the lawn of The Allen Farmhaus.

The First Look

Then it was time for one of my favorite moments – the first look! The first look is a great way to get those pre-wedding jitters out and relax.  And the joy on their faces when they see one another is always priceless!

The Ceremony

Soon everyone was headed to the church in downtown New Braunfels. Before we knew it guests filled the pews and the wedding party was lined up and ready to walk down the aisle!

I had two new “firsts” at this wedding ceremony:

1. It was my first Catholic wedding ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved all of the thoughtfulness behind the service.

2. This was the first time I’ve ever had to walk a flower girl all the way down the aisle! This sweetheart had a moment of panic after seeing all of the guests in the large church, so I asked her if I could walk down with her. I had a little anxiety walking in front of all of these people, so I don’t blame her one bit!

Drew walked his mother to her seat and stood at the front with his groomsmen, anxiously awaiting his bride.

You can’t miss the looks on their faces when they see each other at opposite ends of the aisle.

That look when she sees him!

Following the ceremony, the family had a few quick pictures taken at the church while the guests drove out to the Allen Farmhaus for cocktail hour.

The Reception

Thanks to The Gruene Avocado, guests had a great selection of drinks and a fun avocado bar with homemade guacamole and salsa during cocktail hour. Their buffet setups never disappoint!

Next was the grand entrance of Mr. and Mrs. Drew and Courtney Craft, followed by grace, and then dinner was announced.

You just can’t go wrong with the food that Randy and Tina put together for their couples. They are going to feed you as if you were doing to Sunday dinner at Grandma’s – it’s always good and no one leaves hungry – especially not with Tina’s dessert spread!

The beautiful cake from Cakes Couture was cut just after dinner, followed by toasts from their Maid of Honor, Best Man, and the Father of the Bride.

Courtney and Drew had a lovely first dance as husband and wife.

Drew and his mom had a very emotional dance. (Aren’t they so sweet?)

The next dance was a huge, fun surprise! Courtney and her dad, Don, put together an amazing choreographed dance and had been practicing for months!

Keep your eyes out for a video of their fun dance by Vida Film Productions coming soon!

After this fun dance, who wouldn’t want to get out there and join in? Guests were grabbing glow sticks and dancing like nobody was watching to the tunes Stan with Crossroads DJ was playing!

At the end of the night, Courtney and Drew enjoyed a quiet dance in the reception hall, just the two of them, while their guests were getting lined up for the sparkler sendoff.

They were whisked away in the glowing night to their getaway car, a 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow from Elegant Limo Rentals, and headed off for a quiet evening before leaving for a honeymoon in Jamaica the next day!

Courtney and Drew, thank you so much for trusting me to take care of all the details on your big day and for allowing me to serve you and your family and friends. I wish you all of the happiness in the world for many years to come!
