Tara and Jordon’s brunch wedding at The Allen Farmhaus, New Braunfels, TX

I’m so happy to share the photos and sweet story of Tara and Jordon’s brunch wedding at The Allen Farmhaus with you today!

Tara and Jordon met at Baylor University in 2011 through the ROTC program, and by 2013 they were best friends. Being active duty military officers they have had many deployments over the years and no matter where they were in the world, they were always there for each other.

Finally, just a few days before Christmas 2017, Jordan proposed to Tara with a personalized ornament while decorating their Christmas tree. Of course, she said yes!

Tara managed to plan an amazing wedding from her home in North Carolina in just a few short months. She and Jordon did some amazing DIY projects and hired great vendors that made the day go smoothly for everyone.

The Planning

She was quickly making all of her plans for their Memorial Day weekend brunch wedding, and she knew she wanted some assistance for the day to make sure she and her family could relax and know that everything was being taken care of.

Two months before her wedding I finally met Tara, Jordon, and Tara’s mom, Kari, at Kari’s house here in New Braunfels.  I love meeting my clients in their or their parents’ homes, and I felt very welcomed and comfortable meeting with them. Tara was very prepared with all of the details for the wedding day, and soon all of the final checklists were complete and we were ready to get them married!

Wedding Day

Setup began bright and early at 6:00 a.m. on May 26, and Tara and Jordon were there to greet me with smiles on their faces and decor in their vehicles!  With such clear vision and preparation on their part, setup was a breeze and soon vendors were arriving and The Farmhaus was filled with the sights, smells, and sounds of an amazing brunch wedding.

Getting ready

Tara, her sister, and her mother spent most of the early morning in the Farmhaus bridal suite relaxing, snuggling a baby, and having makeup and hair done by Kendra of Kendra Kay Hair and Makeup.

Jordon relaxed and got ready in the Farmhaus’ fun Groom’s Suite where there’s pool, ping pong, and cold air conditioning – perfect for guys in suits!

Prior to their ceremony, they had a private, emotional first look captured beautifully by Gruene Photography. The nervous smiles turned to joyous smiles and before they knew it the time to walk down the aisle had arrived.

The Ceremony

The processional into the open-air chapel at the Allen Farmhaus began with Jordon walking his mother down the aisle, followed by Tara’s mother and brother. Tara’s nephew, Casen, came next and had a message for Jordon.

Tara floated down the aisle in a beautiful dress from Celebrations Bridal that was truly stunning, and her gorgeous bouquet by Reiley + Rose had a special ornament that included pictures of her grandparents and a small ceramic blue jay, which has special meaning to her family.

Tara and Jordon shared their vows surrounded by close friends and family in the beautiful sun-lit chapel at The Allen Farmhaus, decorated by Reiley + Rose.

The Reception

Following the ceremony, Tara and Jordan and their guests enjoyed an amazing brunch buffet by The Gruene Avocado catering. It included a waffle-making bar, an omelet bar, yogurt, and cereals. The food made the reception hall smell amazing and all of it was delicious.

After brunch, they cut their lovely and delicious cake from 2Tarts bakery.  Between cake, doughnuts, and strudel from Naegelin’s Bakery (The oldest bakery in Texas) there was no shortage of desserts for all!

After cake came champagne toasts: Tara’s brother, Kerrick gave a toast, and they called in a friend who was unable to make it to the wedding, but who is an important part of their lives.

The final toast was given in honor of Memorial Day and in remembrance of all those men and women who do not get to come home and have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. I wish I could share the feeling of that moment – full of happiness, gratefulness, and sadness all in one – as it was a beautiful moment I think all in attendance felt deeply.

The reception continued with dancing with the help of DJ BJ Hermes, chatting with friends and family, lawn games, and cold drinks. A good time was had by all – young and young at heart!

The Send-off

Tara and Jordon enjoyed one last dance together then exited to their friends and family’s well wishes and blowing bubbles!

They may have had the coolest getaway car ever! Jordon and Tara drove off to spend a weekend of relaxing and fun in Fredricksburg, TX.

Thank you so much, Tara and Jordon, for allowing me to serve you on your big day!  It was amazing, and all of your planning and preparation made it a great day for everyone.

A special thanks also to all of the fantastic vendors who made Tara and Jordon’s day a success!
